Autumn Supper night

Autumn Supper Menu

Squash soup with crispy sage and shaved chestnut (v)

Autumn Feasting board – homemade scotch egg, deep fried rabbit rillette, apple chutney, cured wild boar, pickles, salad garnish


Herb Crusted Hake, celeriac puree, chanterelles

Braised venison, herb dumpling, autumn roots

Pumpkin gnocchi, marsala sauce, capers and sage, roasted beetroot (v)


Chocolate delice, poached pear, stem ginger ice cream

Hot blackberry tart, custard ice cream, bramble jelly

Winter is coming…

Before it does, though, we are still making the most of our Autumn harvest to use freshly picked produce in the Tea Room, Restaurant and for menus weddings and events.

It’s been a bountiful season, lettuce, peas, broad beans, baby carrots and multiple flavours of beetroot have appeared.  We’ve also had rocket, pea shoots, mint, rosemary, oregano, parsley, oodles of basil (amazing in tomato and courgette soup and as a fresh pesto), loads of courgettes and courgette flowers (tempura battered), cucumber (ribbons, diced, pickled – you name it), radish (mandolined), petit pois (sautéed) and tons of other wonderful produce.

Looking ahead, we’ve planted sprouting broccoli, broccoli, squash, and multiple varieties of kale for the winter. The celeriac is planted out too. So when this wonderful summer ends there will still be plenty of produce to be had.

Seasonal, fresh food picked straight from the Kitchen Garden and lovingly created into delicious dishes in our country kitchen is our passion and at the heart of what we do.

Autumn Supper

To celebrate the tastes of Autumn we are having a special Seasonal Supper evening in the restaurant on 29th October.  Places are limited and bookings are now being taken, if you’d like to come along to this Autumn Supper and enjoy the fresh flavours of Vallum, call 01434 672 406.

Our Christmas Market on 19th November is the best and most enjoyable way to do your Christmas shopping! A chance to get some great gifts in and maybe a treat or two for yourself..

The ever popular Santa’s Tea Party is on 17th December this year, from 3.30-5.30pm.

During December we’ll be opening our restaurant every Friday evening (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd), giving you the chance to enjoy our special Vallum Christmas dining experience.

There’s also still time if you want to hold your own private dinner or party here. With flexible space, from an intimate dinner in the cosy Chef’s Room to dancing the night away in the Paddock marquee, a celebration at Vallum always special.
